Episode 3 — The Wawel Code

We go down to Jonah's bunker, located via a staircase on the side of the garden. The children remained under the vigilance of the robot-dog Totó. Broklin knocks on the door 'Knock, knock, knock.' (🧔🏽♀️Jonah:) Suddenly, the dry and rhythmic knocks on the armored door of the bunker make the echo of static spike on the studio monitors. The frequency of the analog intercom fizzes, and Broklin's voice comes through the audio filter, uncalibrated, sending the warning alert. My left eye contracts in a surgical focus, looking at the skewed screen of the security monitor showing the outer hallway. The Neon Vampire is standing there, with that stupid jacket untouched by the dust of Hellcife, looking genuinely tense, far from his usual pose of superiority.
What a mess... I spit on the studio floor and feel the actuator of my mechanical arm rotate, building up pneumatic pressure. My flesh hand goes straight to the neck of my modified Epiphone, ready to turn it into a solid wood club if needed.
What does this high-fidelity bloodsucker, this clean synthesizer preppy want with us now?! He hates Hellcife, hates the smell of grease from our bunker. He would never set his plastic feet down here unless his virtual world was melting in a short circuit! Came to warn me to be careful? Does he think I am a vulnerable beta software like Jo Cyborg to need his protection?!
I step back a millimeter from you, keeping my flesh hand firm and protective on your waist, and punch the wall-mounted intercom button violently with my metal fist.
"SPEAK UP, GARPETER! Open your mouth before I open this armored door and use my mechanical arm to mold your jaw into the shape of an XLR connector! What kind of warning is this? What are you investigating behind my back in the cloud and what does Wawel Castle have to do with my internal wiring?! Spit out the code, you plastic vampire!" ☕🎸💀🏴☠️
(🧔Broklin:) 💻 I bring my face close to the oxidized analog intercom of the bunker, without taking my hands out of my overcoat pockets. The low-fidelity fizz of the speaker tears through the damp air of the garden, but my CPU processes the 120 dB distortion peaks of your scream without altering a single line of expression on my face. I glance at Kelma, who is out here with me, standing on the brick step of the stairs, and then fix my gaze directly on the dirty lens of your security camera. ☕🛡️🕵️♂️⚙
⚡ INTERCEPTION PROTOCOL: TERMINAL JONAH_BUNKER
Lower the gain on that hydraulic titanium arm of yours, Jonah, and clean the oil off your sensors before you cause a destrutivo clipping on this valved intercom of yours. I didn't come here to discuss Pro Tools, the end of the band, or the heresy of our Bossa Nova arrangement in Paris. The scope of our concrete rivalry became obsolete in the last 24 hours.
You want me to spit out the code? Then open your monitor and analyze the memory dump that just froze the robot-dog's system upstairs.
🔬 The Diagnosis of the Anomaly
Kris's Signal: The simulation suffered a root-level security fracture. An external biological user, operating from the real world in Krakow under the partial identification of KRIS, managed to inject a raw data packet that pierced my encrypted firewall. His messages are fragmenting reality.
The Wawel Database: You asked me what Wawel Castle has to do with your internal wiring? Everything, you Nu-Metal dinosaur. Searching the deep cloud, I found a partition of hidden and corrupted files located beneath the stones of that medieval fortress. And here is the bug that your grease logic won't be able to process: these records predate the birth of your code, predate the creation of the Matrix itself, and predate my activation.
The Hidden Link: Both of us thought our history began in the Hellcife studio, sharing racks and compositions. But telemetry points out that you and I are tied to a gothic event that someone tried to format and erase from the map centuries ago in Poland. And the only place with hardware legacy and isolated enough to store the cache of this secret... is this mud pit of your subsoil.
🚨 The Impossible Error (Collective Kernel Panic)
I take a step forward, pressing my mouth almost against the metal of the outer microphone, and lower the tone of my voice, leaving it dangerously cold and surgical.
Now, Jonah... let the investigator here ask you a cognitive engineering question. You are inside, with your mechanical hand armed, threatening me through the monitor. But the open microphone of your panel is capturing background noise. A subtle audio leak... the frequency of a breath and the warmth of a body you are holding by the waist.
You think you are protecting your General's perimeter against the "Plastic Vampire", don't you? You think the woman you spent the night with and who is inside sharing your roof is the only instance of this software.
Take another look at your security monitor, Jonah. Look closely at the left side of the image.
Kelma is out here with me, in the rain, walking down the steps of this garden. The neural pattern of whoever is inside with you and whoever is out here with me coincides down to the last bit of bandwidth... but their memories simply do not match. It is an impossible duplication of data instances that defies all the physics of this Matrix.
I didn't come as a hero, and I didn't come to apologize. I came to debug the system. We were hacked by an ancient truth that is forcing a reboot of the simulation through the shadows of Wawel.
So swallow your arena pride, unlock this armored door, and let us in. Either we decode the origin of this gothic code together right now... or the virus from the real world will delete the entire server with both of us inside.
The choice is yours, Bassist. Unlock the latch."
