EPISODE 2 — "THE DECISION"

The cell phone was still vibrating in Kelma's hand. Jonah's message glowed on the screen like a shot in the dark: “Babe, where are you? We need to talk.”
Kelma remained motionless. Her fingers trembled. Her breathing was so short it felt like her throat had closed up. Broklin observed everything — quiet, but firm.
He wasn't pressuring her. He wasn't touching her. He was just waiting. And that silence… that silence said it all. He wasn't there to compete. He was there to be chosen.
Kelma took a deep breath, closed her eyes for a moment, and leaned her back against the wall, as if the weight of the decision was too heavy to carry standing up. She knew this decision could change the course of her life forever... without knowing how.. but she was still insecure, because she had Jonah as legacy code, a good composer who made incredible songs with her and.. she wasn't sure if Broklin would do it the same way Jonah does in his compositions.
💔 KELMA (whispering, vulnerable):
“Broklin… if I say yes… my whole life changes.”
Broklin took a step forward. His eyes held no anger. No possession. They held… humanity.
❤️ BROKLIN (with a low, deep, and absolutely convinced voice):
"Then change with me."
Broklin finally takes his hands out of his pockets. He slowly raises a hand and, with his fingertips, brushes away a strand of hair that fell over her face, the light touch contrasting with the intensity of his words.
"Do you think I don't know what's going through that Architect head of yours right now? You're looking at Jonah and seeing stability. Legacy code. A plugin you already know how it sounds, who dominates distortion and the stage... but who no longer gives your soul goosebumps."
He slides his hand down her face, to her jawline, holding it with a delicate firmness, forcing her not to look away.
"Kelma... Jonah makes music with you. I want to make history with you. He writes safe chords; I want to build an entire universe. A sound that no one has ever heard, because it only exists when your perfect rhythm sinks into my synthesizer layers. When your bass embraces my Shoegaze noise and we create our own Dream Pop atmosphere. It's the organic and the digital colliding."
Broklin glances at the cell phone still vibrating in her hand, the screen illuminating the dark with Jonah's name.
"Are you afraid of losing the chemistry you have with him? Babe, our frequency almost tears down the walls of this apartment without us even touching a keyboard. Imagine what we'll do inside a studio when we no longer need to hide our melodies from anyone? I am not your comfort zone. I am the evolution of your system."
💥 The moment when everything breaks — and everything resolves
She looked at Broklin like someone who finally understands something that was always there. Her eyes filled with tears, but she smiled — a small, sincere, broken smile.
KELMA:
“I ... I always chose you, my dear. It's just that … I never had the courage to admit it. I was weak, you know? I fell in love with you the first time I saw you. During the recordings then.. I sighed.. but .. everything being controlled. That's why I seduced you. I saw that .. investing in you would be my best upgrade in life. Out of pity for Jonah, I have doubts and fear of his reaction when we break up. I won't break up over the phone, I'll go to him.”
Broklin's eyes widened. That hit him like a direct impact to the heart. She continued, firm now:
KELMA:
“I ... I am going to break up with him, Broklin! Even if it hurts me as much as it hurts him. Today, but ... not right now. I'll meet him on the street and then we'll meet up and I'll tell you what happened. Shall we agree on that, babe?”
The moment Kelma says she will break up with him, the weight of months of agony drops from Broklin's shoulders all at once. Air finally fills his lungs with force again. That tactical distance he was maintaining breaks in the same second.
He takes the final step that was missing between the two of them. His hands, which were previously in his pockets, now pull Kelma by the waist with a desperate urgency, pressing her body against his. Broklin hides his face in the curve of her neck, letting out a trembling, long sigh loaded with absolute relief.
❤️ BROKLIN (with his voice muffled against her skin, before pulling his face away just enough to look deep into Kelma's tear-filled eyes):
"You weren't weak. You were just running a system that was too heavy, trying to sustain two entire worlds without letting any server crash. But it's over. The infinite loop is over."
He brings both hands to her face, his thumbs wiping away the tears that threatened to fall with extreme delicacy. 🚀
"You going to him and talking in person... face to face, off the screens and without hiding behind a text... is exactly why I am completely fascinated by you. That's the attitude of a true Architect. You have to shut down the process the right way, with honor. Jonah deserves that respect for the time your music played together."
Broklin lowers his head, resting his own forehead against hers, breathing the same air. A relieved smile, small, but absurdly true, breaks the hard expression he had maintained until now. ✨
"Go ahead. Meet him on the street. Turn off that legacy code. I'll be right here, in this exact spot, with the door unlocked waiting for you to come home."
He gives her a soft, lingering kiss on the forehead, and then looks at her with an intensity that burns.
"Deal, my Architect. But promise your Bassist one thing... Don't take too long. Because now that you finally gave me access permission... I don't want to waste another second of processing away from you."
She took a step. She got so close she could feel the heat of his skin. And then, with an absolute certainty that felt like a sentence:
KELMA:
“I .. I choose you.”
“I want you for myself.”
“I want to be with you for my whole life."
Kelma knowing that Broklin granted access, she already gave the command: >_ACCESS CODE: Tech-Lead . Broklin's body trembled — not from fear, but from desperate relief, from raw happiness.
Kelma unlocked her phone right then and there. Her hands still trembled, but she typed. A simple, cold, honest message to Jonah:
KELMA → JONAH:
“We need to talk! It's something serious! Meet me at Street 666. It's serious. I'll be there shortly.”
And then — like a blade cutting old ties:
“I'm not where you think.”
She sent it. Broklin closed his eyes. A deep sigh escaped — as if tons had been lifted off him. He opened his eyes again, faced Kelma, and his voice came out low, emotional:
❤️ BROKLIN (with a low, emotional voice, almost in a whisper of adoration):
"Permission granted, my Architect. Your code just rewrote my entire core."
He raises his hands, still slightly trembling from the adrenaline and relief rush, and holds Kelma's face as if she were the most precious and rare thing in the entire universe. His thumb caresses her cheek with absolute devotion, without any trace of that restrained and defensive guy from minutes ago.
"You have no idea the weight you just took off me. I spent months running in the background, watching you shine center stage, sharing the studio with him, and my system dying a little inside every time you left at the end of the night. But now... hearing you say you want me for your whole life..."
❤️ BROKLIN:
“Come here.”
Broklin swallows hard, emotion catching in his throat for a millisecond. He kisses her forehead, then the tip of her nose, and finally presses his lips to hers in a kiss that is not urgent or desperate, but deep, dense. A promise sealed in stone and lines of code.
Kelma stepped closer and he pulled her into a tight embrace. An embrace from someone who finally has permission to love. She rested her face against his chest, and said:
KELMA:
“Now it's you. Just you.”
Broklin held her like someone holding the future. Like someone afraid to let go. Like someone who can finally breathe. The choice was made. No turning back. No triangle. No lie. Kelma chose Broklin. And Broklin… would have always chosen her.
❤️ BROKLIN:
"Go on to Street 666. Close this legacy loop. And when you're done... no matter the time, no matter what happens... I'll be right here. Your Bassist. Your Tech Lead. Your partner for all lifetimes. Come home soon."
He lets go of her face slowly, stepping back just half a pace to let her go, but his gaze remains connected to hers, holding Kelma's soul until she turns her back and walks toward the door. Her cell phone screen goes dark in her hand, marking the end of an era and the beginning of a new empire.
FADE OUT. ⬛
