Episode 7 - Human Circuit Breaker

Scene 1: Voltage on the Sidewalk
The night wind of Recife blew hot, carrying dust and the distant sound of a broken exhaust pipe. Quel and Jo stood on the sidewalk, under the yellowish, flickering light of a street lamp blinking like an error warning.
Quel gripped her backpack strap tightly, knuckles white with tension. The decision weighed tons.
— It’s over, Jo. — The phrase came out dry, cutting, without preamble. — I can’t do this anymore. We don’t function.
Jo blinked, comprehension slow like a download stuck at 99%. He looked at her backpack, at the clothes stuffed in carelessly. His usual smile trembled and powered down.
— What? — His voice came out high-pitched, unstable. — What do you mean "over"? You... you’re leaving? Where to? We live together, Quel! I take care of you! I... I configured you to be mine!
— I am not software, Jo! — Quel shouted, taking a step back. — And you didn’t configure me. You suffocate me! I need air. I’m going to my own place. Alone.
Scene 2: Nervous Breakdown
The word "alone" was the trigger. Jo’s face twisted, a mask of pain and infantile fury. He grabbed his own hair, pulling hard, spinning in place as if looking for an emergency exit that didn’t exist.
— ALONE?! — His scream tore through the street, making a dog bark in the distance. — You seduced me for this?! To discard me?! Am I just an old battery to you now?!
He advanced, cornering her against the roughcast wall of a house. His eyes were glazed, blinking too fast, in an emotional short circuit.
— You tricked me! You entered my system, messed up my files, and now you want to format?! NO!
— Jo, stop! You’re scaring me! — Quel pushed his chest, but he felt made of stone and static electricity.
— COLLAPSE! — Jo punched the wall next to her head, the skin on his knuckles tearing. The sound was dry and violent. — I’m having a nervous breakdown, Quel! AND IT’S YOUR FAULT! You did this! You blew my fuses!
He panted, chest heaving irregularly, tears of hate and despair streaming down his red face.
— You’ll pay for this... for playing with my feelings... I am a high-voltage circuit breaker about to explode!
Quel seized the moment of his instability and broke free, running into the middle of the street, flagging down a taxi passing slowly. She got into the car without looking back, leaving Jo screaming into the void, kicking the wall, crumbling into pieces on the dirty sidewalk.
— BREAK! CRUMBLE! — His screams echoed until the taxi window rolled up.
Scene 3: The Notification (Bro)
Far away, in the dark silence of a minimalist apartment, Broklin’s phone vibrated on the glass table. The screen lit up, illuminating the room with a cold, blue light.
He picked up the device, read Quel’s short message: "I left. It’s over."
An imperceptible smile curved the bassist’s lips. He typed calmly, every letter like a terminal command executed with precision:
Bro: Your access key has been updated. Apartment 14 is waiting. Bring your clothes and your insanity. The system here is stable.
He locked the screen. The game had switched servers.
